We place health and safety as our first priority. We are committed to ensuring that everyone returns home from work safely.
We have ensured that this approach is part of our culture and everyone has trained accordingly. We are fully committed to the health and safety of our people, sub-contractors, customers and the general public.
We have a robust health & safety system in place to support this strategy. Knowing what happens to whom, when, how and why is important to us. This ensures that we are able to continuously improve and become better.
All our people are provided with method statements prior to commencing their works which in turn are supported by various risk assessments – where required.
We acknowledge that protecting the environment and minimising our carbon footprint is one of our greatest responsibilities.
We integrate best practice by operating a strict policy to reduce the impact of business activities on the environment. We achieve this by training our people and ensuring that they understand the importance of protecting the environment.
We are committed to the ethos of a sustainable world and building a greener future, as well as:
- Reducing construction and excavation waste
- Promoting the use of recycled materials
- Ensuring products utilised in construction are responsibly sourced
- Reducing carbon emissions
- Investing in beneficial technologies
- Controlling and measuring our environmental impact
- Demonstrating our commitment to sustainability to our customers
- Engineering for sustainability
Our focus on quality is at the heart of everything we do and is a key part to every facet of our business. Our commitment to quality is evident from pre-construction through to completion. All our people play a significant role in ensuring that we provide our customers with the levels of quality that they expect and deserve. We focus on attention to detail, trust, reliability and training – this ensures that we can achieve a finish that is outstanding.
Establishing quality control processes at all project stages, along with the use of quality materials and industry best practice techniques, ensures we are able to provide the best possible service experience to our customers.
Our commitment is to ensure that we only deliver the very best to our customers and by our ongoing monitoring we can ensure that we can continuously improve and get better, year on year.
We understand that our success is underpinned by the people that work for us. Our people are qualified, knowledgeable and committed to ensuring that we provide our customers with a great service.
Above all, we ensure that all our people are aligned with our values and truly believe in our culture and beliefs. We need all our people to understand the importance of our family values as this ultimately sets us apart from our competitors. We want our customers to feel this when they interact and work with us.
Our construction professionals have excellent technical, design and project management capabilities. We have hundreds of years experience within our company that we want to share with our customers.
We utilise this experience to attract and up-skill new talent into our industry and ensure that we remain sustainable.
We train and develop all our people to ensure that we have skilled professionals who continuously improve. We also want them to be the best that they can be, have a long and successful career and serve our industry.
Sustainable practice runs through the core of our business and we focus on all elements to ensure we leave our business, our customers and our planet in a better place.
We recognise and value our responsibilities, in so far that we:
- Train and upskill our people
- Provide work experience opportunities and hire apprentices
- Believe in gender equality
- Procure from sustainably assured sources
- Invest in new technology and innovation
- Recycle our waste
- Design out waste to ensure it doesn’t arrive on site in the first place

Our project at Wroughton Airfield is a design and build on a 60 year old brown field site which certainly has it’s challenges, none of which have ever been a problem for Mata to overcome.
